Server protocol

When trying to use a spacific address I receive a "server uses protocol "#" message I have discussed addresses with another player and they experiance the same message with different protocol "#".On these servers , I can get into.
Any thoughts?

You or them are running a previous version of Q3. Their are several patches out for Quake3 make sure your all at the same level.

Protocol 43 - Point release 1.16n and below

Protocol 45 - Point release 1.17

Protocol 46 - Point release 1.25
