About two weeks ago I noticed that my normally full servers suddenly started losing attendance. Nothing had changed on the settings but a couple of days ago one of the regulars mentioned to me that the servers don't show up in the ingame server scanner anymore. I checked myself and sure enough, they don't. I have three servers and their heartbeats are turned on using the following lines in their config files. This has worked fine up until just recently.
sv_master2 ""
sv_master3 ""
sv_master4 ""
sv_master5 ""
I have never had to specify master1 because it defaults to master3.idsoftware.com anyway.
Another curious thing, if I put master3.idsoftware.com into gamespy, it gives me back a list of servers - but only about 150. The ingame browser finds ~2,000.
It appears that master3 is no longer the right master, but if so, why does the ingame browser still find 2,000 servers?
AAAAHHHHHH!
Since then I have added master0.gamespy.com to my heartbeats in hopes that I can drum up some business via gamespy, but obviously dropping off the server scan list ingame is hurting my server bigtime.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks,
Aslan
