Ok,

Having gotten serious about my server.. (I have got SSH2 running and with screen I can finally remotely admin. This setup rocks.)

It's time to think about a little better protection from those pesky aimbots. I hear OSP mentioned all the time. What else is out there? There definitely isn't a list here on the site. <hint, hint>

The ones I hear that people like to use to combat cheaters:

Beryllium (server/client config, not just serverside)
SCTA
MatchMOD

OSP and Q3Comp are also fine bot protection mods too. http://gameadmins.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yeah, it's the bot protection that I'm most interested in. I didn't see any note on SCTA's website regarding whether they had that sort of functionality. Otherwise that mod looked really cool.

Have all the mods moved on to developing only for 1.27+? I just run a small server and for a while there, before I upgraded from 1.17, it was really busy. I'm thinking that I would like to go back to serving 1.17 for that reason and, if I can, to run a mod to kick the bot users. What does everyone think?
