lo all
hope someone can help me
i have 2 pc's networked at the moment, the main pc is connected to a cable modem, and i want to set up a dedicated q3 server on the second pc.
i set up the server and it works fine across the lan, and i can join it if i specify the ip and port in q3, i can even connect to it through gamespy, the problem is no-one else can, i have tried to change the net_ip in the server config, but it makes no difference, other people still cant connect.
has anyone got any ideas how to make this work????

if you can connect to it through gamespy everyone else should be able too also. what error message are they getting?

when other people try to connect through gamespy the server returns no info at all, gamespy calls it unnamed and gives it a ping of 9999, if they try to connect it stops at awaiting connection, if other people try to connect through q3 they get the same "awaiting connection", and thats it

if my main pc has the modem, and the second pc is the server, which ip and port should i allocate to net_ip, and which ip and port should people try to connect too??????

What are you using as the connector here.

Router? Internet connection Sharing? Proxy device? It depends on which you are using to share your network, if it's ICS you need to run the server on the main PC.
