Hi,
I'm having major trouble launching a dedicated server.
My PC is powerfull enough to run anything.
I followed all the instructions on many sites.
I'm even trying to run the most basic one but it all stops at the Launch console for over an hour before I quit.
Here's what I get:
Q3 1.32 win-x86 Oct 7 2002

what do you see when you type status ?
What is your startup command?
Post your server.cfg files here w/o passwords.

Hi,
Thanks for speedy response.
I finally managed to get the server running OK, but I found out I can't kick people out of it even though I do status then kick <##>,
all I get is user <##> is not on the server.
Also when I specify a password, how do I or whoever wants to access the server enter it? we use the main Q3 iterface to specify the server details.
Here's a copy of my server.cfg in case you have any sugestions regarding any wrong settings:
// server configuration - Created on 11/22/2002 12:49:24 AM
// COPY AND PASTE, SAVE AS server.cfg IN YOUR Q3 DIRECTORY

I want to know, is your setting of g_inactivity effective ?
See my question below:

Thanks a lot !

use /rcon clientkick ## to kick - spaces, and colors mess things up.
type this into your server.cfg file:
set g_needpass "1"
set g_password "littlesecret"
