In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. View Full Version : Spearhead Dedi Server problem
I cant get the dedicated server to fire up properly. I'm also confused why the retail game has a server executable and then there is the downloadable version too.
I've tried both and even use the FFA.bat file & cfg template it installs itself, but still no joy. The console appears and then dissappears before it gets going properly.
Can anyone give me the benefit of their experience in getting this working please.
Thanks

Most likely, software companies provide a dedicated server so that more people can run a server w/o purchasing the software.
I'm gonna guess you are running a windows box for this.....on your shortcut properties...look for a check to close windows when it terminated...uncheck this, and you should be able to read the output. Also, look in your directory for the log file...might have saved a log....but don't keep your hopes up. :)
Fixed it. All it was - was the mod files from MOHAA I'd downloaded were stopping it. They're not compatible with SH, so if you have blood or weapon skins etc, you need to clear them out. Doh!
